Spanish Royal Infanta Embarks on Educational Journey in Wales

Infanta Sofía, the second daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia, is all set to embark on an educational adventure as she arrives in Wales to attend Atlantic College, as reported by Spanish media.

Infanta Sofía will fly from Madrid Airport to Heathrow, London, to join Atlantic College this week in an exciting move.

Interestingly, her elder sister, Princess Leonor, the heir to the Spanish throne, played a pivotal role in inspiring Infanta’s decision.

Princess Leonor shared her joyful experience of spending two years in Wales, igniting Infanta’s interest. In February, Infanta took the entrance tests under the pseudonym “Dune,” showcasing her enthusiasm for science fiction.

A local media report stated, “Princess Leonor was the one who told her little sister how much fun she had had during those two years in Wales, and that was the key for Infanta to decide to take the tests.”

Notably, King Felipe and Britain’s Prince William, known as the Prince of Wales, share a familial connection as great-great-grandchildren of King George of the Hellenes.

In recent times, King Felipe’s presence in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, where he enjoyed the final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, added to his public engagements.

His interaction with children from Wales, displaying an endearing bond, caught the spotlight.
