Prince Harry’s Tabloid Lawsuit Ruling Sparks Debate Among Royal Fans

A recent ruling by the London High Court in Prince Harry’s lawsuit against tabloids has ignited a heated debate among royal fans.

The court’s decision to allow the Duke of Sussex’s lawsuit against The Sun tabloid to proceed to trial, excluding phone hacking claims, has sharply divided opinions.

Critics of Prince Harry interpret the ruling as a significant setback for him, emphasizing that a substantial part of his claim was dismissed by the court, which they perceive as an indirect accusation of falsehood.

On the other hand, supporters of the prince find hope in the court’s acknowledgment that he has a plausible case to be heard during the trial.

The claims about the tabloid unlawfully sourcing “confidential information from third parties” through private investigators have gained attention and will be scrutinized further during the legal proceedings.

However, the court sided with News Group Newspapers (NGN) regarding phone hacking allegations dating back to the 2000s, as the six-year “limitation period” had lapsed before Harry filed his claim in 2019.

The judge also rejected Prince Harry’s assertion that a “secret agreement” between the royal family and the publisher delayed his lawsuit initiation, stating that the claim lacked supporting evidence.
