Meghan Markle’s Unexpected End to Her First Marriage: Sending a Message

When ending a marriage, people often opt for face-to-face conversations or perhaps even the cliche “it’s not you, it’s me” phone call.

But Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, had a different approach when she decided to bring her first marriage to a close.

Before her royal journey with Prince Harry began, Meghan married producer Trevor Engelson.

Their marriage had its ups and downs, eventually leading to a surprising and somewhat unconventional divorce announcement.

In Andrew Morton’s book, “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” a fascinating detail emerges.

It’s said that Meghan sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor via registered mail. This unexpected move stunned her then-husband, as well as their friends.

A wealthy entrepreneur friend of Meghan revealed that the marriage’s end was so abrupt that Meghan chose to return her diamond rings to Trevor using this unusual method.

Another source confirmed that the decision to divorce was entirely Meghan’s and came “totally out of the blue.”

Meghan and Trevor tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony in Jamaica in 2011 but eventually went their separate ways, filing for divorce in 2013. Interestingly, the Duchess of Sussex doesn’t share any children with her ex-husband.
