Kate Middleton’s Jewel Dilemma: A Royal Disappointment?

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has come under scrutiny by a senior journalist and former Vogue editor, Suzy Menkes, who expressed disappointment over Kate’s approach to jewelry.

During a recent episode of her podcast “Creative Conversations,” Menkes questioned Kate’s apparent indifference towards the rare and precious jewels she is privileged to wear.

Comparing Kate to her mother-in-law, Queen Camilla, Menkes pointed out that the Duchess of Cambridge doesn’t seem as passionate about jewels as Queen Camilla.

According to Daily Mail, British Vogue’s jewelry editor, Carol Woolton, was also present on the show to discuss the Princess of Wales’ recent outfits.

Woolton echoed Menkes’ sentiments, stating, “The Princess of Wales is a bit of a disappointment about jewelry. She gives the impression that she only puts it on when she has to.

I imagine her looking beautiful in one of those gowns behind the scenes and then pulling a face as if to say, ‘Do I have to wear this?’ She doesn’t give any sense of adoring jewelry and being pleased to put it on.”

Menkes further observed that Kate doesn’t seem to exude the same joy and enthusiasm for wearing jewelry as Queen Camilla.

The critique revolves around the perception that Kate appears indifferent toward the collection of precious gems at her disposal.
