Fashion Divide: Prince Harry’s Memoir Reveals Meghan and Kate’s Differences

Unveiling a compelling layer of the dynamics within the royal family, Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ sheds light on a pivotal factor that set Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton apart: their divergent fashion preferences.

The contrast in their styles is a notable breaking point between the Duchesses.

In his candid exploration, Harry writes, “The only possibly discordant note I could think of was the marked difference in how the two women dressed, which both of them seemed to notice. Meg: ripped jeans, barefoot. Kate: done up to the nines. No big deal, I thought.”

This divergence in fashion choices seems to have shaped the interactions and perceptions between the two royal figures. Meghan reflected on this distinction during the six-part docuseries ‘Harry & Meghan.’

She recalled an early meeting with Kate and William: “I remember I was in ripped jeans and I was barefoot. I was a hugger. I’ve always been a hugger; I didn’t realize that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

Meghan’s revelation unveils the underlying cultural differences that can shape relationships within the royal family. She elaborated on the surprising formality that persisted beyond the public persona, observing how it extended into private interactions.
