Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney team up with Ryan Reynolds for new sports comedy series

Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney, the minds behind the hit TV show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” are teaming up with actor Ryan Reynolds for a new sports comedy series.

The untitled show has already been picked up for a straight-to-series order at Apple TV+.

The new series will follow a small-time, struggling sports team as they try to make it big by any means necessary.

Reynolds will have a recurring role on the show, but Day and McElhenney will take on the leading roles.

According to reports, Day and McElhenney came up with the idea for the show and pitched it to Reynolds, who loved it and wanted to be involved.

The trio has already begun work on the series and is expected to start production later this year.

This is not the first time Day and McElhenney have worked together outside of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

The pair created and starred in the Apple TV+ comedy series “Mythic Quest,” which follows the team behind a popular online video game.

Reynolds is no stranger to comedy, having starred in numerous comedic films such as “Deadpool,” “The Proposal,” and “Just Friends.”

He’s also no stranger to the sports world, having recently purchased ownership stakes in two soccer teams:

Welsh side Wrexham AFC and English side Rob McElhenney, co-owned by McElhenney.

The upcoming series is sure to be a hit with fans of Day and McElhenney’s work and of Reynolds’ comedic talents.

It’s always exciting when talented people come together to create something new, and this sports comedy series is something to look forward to.

As with all news, it’s important to remember that this is just the beginning stages of the show’s development, and things could change as the project progresses.

But for now, fans can look forward to seeing Day, McElhenney, and Reynolds team up to bring some laughs to the world of sports.
